Hello to all TBST folks . .. .
here is the Competition Calander for the WIJARA races this winter along with some of our other Special Events. Such as, Lakers-DH Memorial Race, Trevor Knight Memorial, Madison Area Middle School Ski & Snowboard Championships; Mt Lacrosse Spring Fling; Annual Spring Slalom @ Tyrol.
We will also begin our Dryland Training Sessions the Sunday AFTER Memorial Day weekend at Elver Park, 3pm-430 pm; meet at Shelter House nearest the tennis courts.
I will also need help reserving hotel/motel accomodations for the Chestnut & Sundown WIJARA race weekends . .. any volunteers can call me at 577-7541.

For adult, Masters & Nastar racers there will be a brand NEW Race Series this winter sponsored by GS Ski Tunes. These events will be hosted at Tyrol, Cascade and Devils Head. There will be individual OR Team fees involved. Look for details coming this fall.
Also, the complete and detailed TBST Competition Calander will come out in Sept via email and be posted to the TBST website and facebook pgs.

attached is the detailed competition calander for the race team. Copy it off & save, post on refrigerator .... THIS is our event bible to follow all season.
I would like all the families to know when we have an event on this calander, be it training, a Sat Series, race camp, You should all know with confidence we coaches will be there for your racers. Regardless of the weather! If u don’t feel comfortable driving out in snow, ice, sleet, etc. Still know, we will be there for training & races. Even If only ONE racer shows up. We don’t take attendance. You & your skier get out of it what you put in. Our hope is your racers will have incredible fun, meet & make new winter friends & improve their skiing skills & confidence by a huge margin.
Parent help is necessary to run our races . . so this Sat from 9 am to 940 am we will have a brief meeting in Tyrols upper lodge to start gathering VOLUNTEERS to help us run our Sat Series Races. Which will build up to hosting the WIJARA grand finale/Shelley Glover Memorial Race in Feb.
Unlike other wijara teams, we race every weekend all winter long. This gets both our racers & parents familier with race rountine, running the events & getting comfortable with a competition. Like any club we are only as successful as the HELP we get from our Parent Volunteers. we have many positions to fill on an avg race saturday. some of which are:
starters at top of race run; liners to org the start-racers; announcers, timers, scoreboard keepers, race set up crew; race tear down crew; course maintenance workers to slip out & fix gates; Gatekeepers . .. recorders for results .. . .
it doesnt matter if u don’t ski/snowboard, we can use your help! This all culminates with our hosting of the WIJARA finale weekend. By practicing our skills during the Sat Series we run The Best WIJARA race of the season here at Tyrol. That’s only because you parents work so hard all the months leading up to this huge event.
I hope you all help in continuing this excellent tradition at Tyrol . .
We do have several SPECIAL Events on the Comp Calander I want u all to be aware of :
a. JT Memorial Race at Devils head Dec 22nd. gs/sl. I sent out the entry forms for this . .. if u don’t go we will still have Free ski with coaches at tyrol for racers not going! 9 am to noon.
b. Trevor Knight Memorial Race on Thurs Dec 28th . . . open race to all comers. TBST racers automatically entered.
c. Madison Area Middle School Ski & Snowboard Championships friday feb 15th at tyrol, 4 pm race start. need help getting WORD out to schools .. . this is for 5th thru 8th graders.
d. Shelley Glover Memorial Race weekend during Tyrols WIJARA finale . .. . defn an important tradition for us to continue.
e. Tyrol SPRING SLALOM race .. . this annual competiton is an OPEN race, all tbst racers automatically entered but we have adults coming, other clubs invited and a fun time.
ALSO , If you have friends who want to try ski racing or the team consider sending them the attached Holiday camp form . . AND, if u know the ski/snowboard club contacts at your respective Middle schools please send them this approp form for me . ..
